“Lentils from the prosperous fields”: that’s how they called the fields of Voio in Kozani as they produced tasteful and easy-to-cook lentils. Cultivated at an altitude of nearly 850 m. and in a soil rich in potassium, Voion Lentils are one of the finest varieties of lentils in Greece. In 2008, the company “Voion Land Products” was established in the region with the aim to revive and maintain the traditional cultivation of lentils in Voio.
